WASHINGTON – The American Securities Association (ASA) today applauded President Trump’s action to rein in independent agencies, including the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), to make certain we have a government that answers to the American people.
"We applaud the President for rightfully re-asserting the executive’s power over the SEC,” said ASA President and CEO Chris Iacovella. “Nowhere in the Constitution is an independent agency discussed, this was a Wilsonian creation that stripped power from the American people and vested it in a permanent managerial class of federal government employees. Bringing transparency and accountability back to the American people will help return our republic to its founding principles.”
